Sinful Being, Are We?

When a woman was sexually harrassed by an older man, and the woman did not get herself out of that situation RIGHT AWAY...I heard a person commented that people would think negatively of the woman rather than that older man. Of course, much details were left out, but I could not help wondering, why is that? Would a woman be considered a bad person if she didn't strongly object to that matter right when it happened to her? Even when she said she was shocked? Or even when she said she was concerning of his wife's feeling had she found out? She probably could keep thinking it was unfair, but it would not change the essence of the matter, would it?

The world seems to has its way of thinking. It may think that why the hell would you get yourself there in the first place!! We can either think from the world's perspective, or an individual's. What would define fairness and justice? Either way we choose, there will be consequence, the price to pay. After all, we have choices over our actions, but not over consequences.

I can only think of what happened as a painful experience for a woman to learn not to trust human's nature. Should we think of ourselves as sinful being, and being challenged by our sins throughout our lives? Does it matter for how good we have done? when we make a mistake...the foundation collasped? And that is it? That must be the reason why forgiveness is very important to put in practice! God forgives us if we truely feel our mistake, but can we forgive ourselves?

The woman keeps wondering of herself. Why didn't she do anything at the moment? Why didn't she stand up for herself? What would be the damages if she did stand up? Would she feel better of herself now? Or would it be deeper troubles? etc.

You have gotto let those thoughts go!!

We are not a perfect being, never have, and never will. But we always do our best at the moment. If there is anything I can tell anyone as secret to life, it is learning to forgive oneself for not knowing what we should have known at the moment...for not doing what we should have done at the moment. What would you say to her?
